Tell us what must work Material selection
Appearance, heat, moisture, sunlight, loads, cleaning, and fabrication all influence the choice. These material families are starting points for a project discussion. We confirm the exact grade, stock, finish, availability, and production route before committing to fabrication.
Material family 01
Choose a grade for the actual part, not just a familiar acronym.
Concept models, visual studies, and suitable fit-check parts.
Confirm heat exposure and loads before using it for a working part.
Enclosures, organizers, trays, and general functional prototypes.
Check stiffness, temperature, dimensional requirements, and the specific grade.
Housing and component candidates where their grade-specific properties suit the environment.
ASA is a candidate for UV-exposed work; confirm the supplier’s data and the complete design.
Flexible feet, bumpers, protective interfaces, and compliant features.
Hardness, compression, geometry, and attachment determine the useful behavior.
Candidates for demanding functional components and fixtures.
Grade, moisture conditioning, print process, and application temperature need review.
Carbon-fiber or glass-fiber filled grades for selected fixtures and components.
The base polymer and print orientation matter; a reinforced label is not a load rating.
Material family 02
Choose the visual effect and fabrication method together.
Clear covers, panels, signs, displays, and layered assemblies.
Select sheet type and thickness for the cutting, engraving, bonding, and finish required.
Brand details, privacy panels, display features, and decorative signage.
Review a physical sample for transmitted light, surface appearance, and color.
LED-illuminated signs and backlit panels.
Check light transmission, LED spacing, diffusion, and service access as an assembly.
Tactile, Braille, and room identification signage using the applicable catalog selections.
Document the chosen material and color pair; review sign layout and installation separately.
Photoluminescent signs and markers.
Confirm the exact material’s documentation and required performance for the installed use.
Routed polymer signs and rotary-engraved industrial identification.
Match the product to exposure and specification. Use CNC routing or rotary engraving where the sheet requires it.
Material family 03
Useful when sheet or block construction better fits the application.
Trays, organizers, routed signs, and suitable fixture components.
Specify the grade, thickness, mounting method, and process exposure.
Precision component, spacer, guide, and fixture candidates.
Review dimensional requirements, loads, wear, and chemical exposure.
Wear-strip, guide, and low-friction contact candidates.
Evaluate fastening, movement, tolerances, and the surrounding assembly.
Cover, panel, and impact-sensitive application candidates.
Select machining, finish, and grade to suit the use; required safety performance is separately defined.
Material family 04
Useful structure, presentation, and finish at practical quantities.
Fixtures, templates, display structures, and assembled components.
Specify construction, thickness, edges, finish, and moisture exposure.
Painted signs, display components, patterns, and suitable indoor fixtures.
Plan edge treatment, fastening, finishing, and the installation environment.
Presentation pieces, sign details, and customer-facing components.
Review grain, color, joinery, movement, and finishing on the selected stock.
Larger display and presentation components with a wood surface.
Specify core, veneer, edge treatment, and finish together.
Material family 05
A complete solution may combine fabricated and purchased components.
Mounting plates, brackets, fixtures, and component candidates.
Geometry and tolerances determine the machining route, including specialist production where appropriate.
Panel and formed-sheet component candidates.
Thickness, bend details, cutting, finish, and supplier route are scoped to the design.
Frames, supports, interfaces, and finished panel candidates.
Define purchased profiles, connection hardware, machining, and the required appearance.
Case inserts, presentation inserts, and suitable protective supports.
Specify density, contact compatibility, cushioning, and any static-control requirements.
Threaded inserts, fasteners, feet, mounting systems, bonded joints, and coatings.
Select for substrate compatibility, load, service access, and exposure.
Rowmark signage
Miami Makes works with Rowmark’s certified material and color catalog for applicable ADA signage. We use the selected product information and color guidance to support material selection, then develop the sign’s visual, tactile, and installation details.
Industrial signage may call for photoluminescent sheet, heavy-gauge HDPE, or rotary-engraving stock. A material’s documented properties apply to that material and its specified conditions; the complete sign is reviewed for its intended use.
