Custom ducts, chutes, funnels & dispensing components

Custom flow paths that connect equipment, move loose material, or direct air where the application needs it. Miami Makes develops transitions, pickups, hoppers, and outlets around your equipment and operating conditions.

Your project, in practical terms

From requirement to finished part.

Example requests show how design, fabrication, and delivery can fit together around your needs.

Can you make a funnel or chute that connects our container to a nonstandard filling opening?

Miami Makes can design a custom funnel, hopper transition, or gravity chute around both interfaces and the material being transferred. Throat size, wall angle, mounting flanges, removable outlets, and cleanout access can be developed together. Printed polymers, machined parts, or sheet assemblies can support different geometries and exposures. We can make a trial component for flow evaluation with your material, then supply the approved quantity with nationwide shipping.

Where we start. Send inlet and outlet dimensions, available height, particle size, target flow, filled weight, and cleaning requirements. Identify moisture, abrasion, static, and any food-contact needs. We use the actual material and operating conditions to evaluate bridging and discharge rather than assuming geometry alone establishes flow performance.

Applications & construction options

Built around your use.

Explore materials, dimensions, and details for each application. Dimensions below describe example configurations, not fixed limits or guaranteed specifications. We develop the final construction around your requirements.

01

Blower & hose adapters

Join mismatched outlets, hoses, and downstream attachments.

Materials & fabrication
Printed PETG, ASA, or nylon adapters, machined interfaces, and compatible clamps or seals. Metal construction can be selected for exposure or stiffness.
Dimensions & construction
Define actual diameters, taper, insertion depth, keys, retention, and hose bend clearance. Split clamps and replaceable couplings can support repeated removal. Suitable thermoplastic split-clamp bodies can incorporate M5–M8 heat-set inserts for removable clamping screws, with reinforced lugs and room for the selected insert length.
What determines the choice
Check pressure, temperature, vibration, leakage, and equipment cooling. An adapter should not impose an unreviewed restriction or overload the host equipment.
02

Extraction pickup hoods

Collect air and process debris near a defined source.

Materials & fabrication
Formed or assembled sheet metal or compatible polymer, with printed geometry for suitable trials and purchased duct connections.
Dimensions & construction
Develop hood opening, stand-off distance, mounting adjustment, hose connection, and cleanout access around the source and required capture arrangement.
What determines the choice
Capture depends on the complete extraction system and airflow. Combustible dust, hot debris, hazardous fumes, and static require a specified design and suitable materials.
03

Air-transition ducts

Route airflow between different shapes, sizes, or positions.

Materials & fabrication
Printed polymer transitions, assembled sheet components, or metal construction appropriate to the air temperature and environment.
Dimensions & construction
Define inlet and outlet profiles, transition length, bend radius, flange patterns, and access for fastening. Smooth internal paths and gradual changes can be evaluated.
What determines the choice
Check pressure loss, flow distribution, noise, leakage, condensation, and cleaning. System requirements determine acceptable geometry and whether a prototype airflow test is needed.
04

Powder & granule funnels

Direct loose material into a container or process opening.

Materials & fabrication
Machined HDPE or acetal, suitable printed polymers, or metal contact surfaces. Select finish and contact materials for the substance and cleaning method.
Dimensions & construction
Develop throat size, wall angle, inlet capacity, mounting, and a removable or interchangeable outlet. Dimensions follow particle size and available fill clearance.
What determines the choice
Evaluate bridging, static, dust, abrasion, segregation, and moisture. Food, chemical, or controlled-environment contact requires a defined grade and cleanable construction.
05

Gravity chutes

Transfer parts or bulk material along a shaped path.

Materials & fabrication
UHMW or HDPE liners, formed metal, machined polymer sections, and printed trial transitions. Wear surfaces can be replaceable.
Dimensions & construction
Define slope, cross-section, bend radii, drop height, sidewalls, and support spacing. Include inspection or cleanout panels where material could accumulate.
What determines the choice
Check sticking, impact damage, noise, jams, and feed variation. Material behavior at the intended rate is more useful than an empty-chute geometry check.
06

Hopper transitions

Connect storage volume to a smaller metering or transfer interface.

Materials & fabrication
Printed or machined polymers and fabricated metal, with replaceable throat inserts and compatible seals.
Dimensions & construction
Develop outlet geometry, wall angle, gates, mounting flanges, and cleanout access. Capacity is selected around refill frequency and acceptable filled weight.
What determines the choice
Test flow at different fill levels, humidity, and carrier formulations. Anti-bridging provisions must not introduce segregation or damage sensitive contents.
07

Bag-filling spouts

Hold and position a bag opening during a defined filling operation.

Materials & fabrication
Machined or printed compatible polymers, aluminum or stainless interfaces, and purchased clamps or flexible sleeves.
Dimensions & construction
Match bag mouth, neck depth, clamp contact area, outlet shape, and mounting height. Include changeable inserts for different bag formats.
What determines the choice
Check bag tearing, dust escape, operator access, material buildup, and filled-bag support. Hygiene and dust-control needs shape the entire filling arrangement.
08

Interchangeable dispensing outlets

Change the delivery pattern or interface without replacing the complete dispenser.

Materials & fabrication
Machined acetal or metal outlets, printed flow trials, and replaceable seals selected for the contents and cleaning process.
Dimensions & construction
Define orifice shape, outlet length, coupling, keyed orientation, and positive retention. Identify outlet sizes or revisions visibly.
What determines the choice
Calibrate each outlet with the actual material and operating conditions. A nominal opening alone does not establish mass flow, coverage, or dose accuracy.

Design is part of the engagement

Help defining it.
Help making it.

We develop the geometry from the host equipment, material behavior, and required flow. A trial part can establish fit and handling; flow testing then informs the final transition, throat, outlet, or mounting details.

Design and documentation can stand alone, continue through our fabrication work, or support production by a specialist facility.
